I saw my first monarch of the season a couple of days ago. It was definitely looking for milkweed plants; flying low to the ground and occasionally checking plants before moving on. Because we're along the river valley and have had a cool spring, our milkweed plants are only @ 2 inches tall right now, so its a good thing they didn't show up much earlier!
