Buds began to grow a month before (approx. March 17), and eventually small green leaves began to develop along with them. Flowers appeared at the same time as the leaves, but began to die at the beginning of May and eventually disappeared by May 10. The leaves are still present, and are very large and green, measuring approximately 5-6 inches. The tree observed is a flowering dogwood.
