Butterfly breeders Rod and Joan Parrott were on the shoreline of Lake Ontario near Port Hope about 3 pm looking for monarchs that had crossed Lake Ontario to feed on the lilacs there. They left the area, but at 4 pm, their friend, S. W. Haskill, reported seeing 1 monarch.
