It was a very hot and windy day today. Approx. temperature was 95. We were at a popular location along the Colorado River in El Dorado Canyon. While sitting on the edge of the river, watching boats, Jet Ski's, etc. buzzing around the point, a large, beautiful Loon popped up out of nowhere! Having grown up on a lake in Wisconsin, I always hoped to see one but was never lucky enough. In the time I called my young girls to look, it disappeared. In three hours, I saw it only one other time up close. While leaving, I believe I saw two surface but cannot be certain. Such excitement! Is this a typical location or along the migration route?
