Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/05/2008

Number: 1

A male monarch was observed flitting about our waystation. Never perched. Probably looking for females. Our common milkweed has flower buds, the swamp milkweed is up about 12" and our potted tropical seedlings are awaiting planting in the ground. We are a K-5 elementary school. A parent actually spotted the butterfly and rushed in to tell me!
