I spotted my first official Monarch, east of Grand Rapids. Tremendous thunderstorms had stalked thru one after another all morning and the afterstorm humidity was thick. What Gramps always called a weatherbreeder! While at the Franciscan Center, between Ada and Lowell, MI. to hang an art show. I noticed how busy their butterfly garden was with Swallowtails, both Tiger and Spice Bush. But no Monarchs! Halfway home on my 45 minute drive, there it was dipping and playing around some blossoms on a bush near an intersection.Seemed rather pale so I'm assuming it has been a traveler for a while. Spring has offically arrived!
