Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/09/2008

Number: 1

I am now working on the Boston Harbor Islands as a Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Park Ranger. On Monday and Tuesday (June 9 & 10), I brought two groups of Boston Latin Academy 8th graders out to Lovells Island to do some tide pool work with Invertebrates. On Monday, we saw 1 adult Monarch in very good shape on the trail to the Tide pool. Could not sex it. On Tuesday on the same trail on Lovells Island we saw two adult Monarchs. Again could not sex them. The weather on both days was bright sunshine with temps in the low 90's with little wind.
