Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/07/2008

Number: 1

I collected 3 eggs from plants on the Lake Huron shore near our house. All 3 hatched on June 11 in my Gr.3/4 classroom and got their racing stripes over this past w/e. They love my tropical milkweed plant and are munching up a storm. Our last school day is June 26 and I'm hoping they will be in their chrysalis form by then. We started our school year back in Sept raising caterpillars, released them in early November and are finishing our year with another generation. The circle of life is amazing!
