Saw about 15 or so monarchs in woods. They were near a stream of water just off the River Downs Golf Course. The funny thing: they had landed on a dead deer carcass! I couldn't believe it. Walked up to them to take a picture, but they flew away. I waited a few seconds and they all came back and landed on the dead deer! I have never seen this and don't understand it. Anyone have an idea? I didn't get any pictures. My camera phone was not working! So sorry. But a dead deer? That seems wierd. Could they have been getting moisture?
