I have only seen 2 monarchs in my garden and have collected 53 eggs and caterpillars. All are in chrysalis form or have been released. In the past week, I have been unable to see any monarchs flying and yet I have released 13 to date. Where are they all going? My colleague in LaGrange has not spotted any in her garden as well and has taken 16 of my caterpillars to release as adults in her garden. It is an interesting situation as usually by this time I am seeing monarchs and other butterflies all over my garden. I have not seen any swallowtails either but have found 2 eggs and one caterpillar.
I hope they return in mass soon!
