Butterfly breeders Rod and Joan Parrott of Port Hope felt that while monarchs near the Niagara Falls area would have no trouble crossing the river and entering Canada, those crossing Lake Ontario are delayed due to the cool, overcast weather (it was 53 F in Port Hope in the morning for the first day of summer). Rod also noted that he found 4 male monarchs today - all in pristine condition, not faded like the earlier ones.
