Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/23/2008

Number: 1

I just got back from 4 days at Writing On Stone in southern Alberta,
where my family and I were canoeing on the Milk River. Just thought
I'd report a monarch sighting, 1 mile west of Deer Creek Bridge, along
the edge of the river. I think we startled it up off some milkweeds.
Also seen in the area, nearer the campground, was a two-tailed
swallowtail, and oodles of silver-spotted skippers. I didn't even
attempt IDs on the many blues and sulphurs.
