Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/27/2008

Number: 1

Just planted "butterfly" plants 2 months ago and noticed larva on 6/27 and today adult has been around most of day feeding on adjacent plant and looks like it's laying eggs. There are 2 plants...one has about 8 larva the other has 2. Two of the larva are small and the others are big. Just starting to read up on all this. Wondering the timeline for the larva stage and will they try to form chrysalis on the same plant?
