Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/29/2008

Number: 1

It would seem to me that if any of the objects on my milkweed were caterpillars they would be getting larger. However, they are not. I carefully inspected my milkweed and did not find anything big enough to eat a whole top of one milkweed and several leaves below, not to mention the stem. I have noticed a chubby well-fed skunk making the rounds and has eaten some dill and nasturiums.I wondered if it sampled the milkweed. The milkweed was there this morning but now is gone. I still have another stem. Does anyone know of any bugs or mammals that eat the milkweed. How about locusts. Keeping up the watch.
