Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/28/2008

Number: 1

My first batch of cats ( eggs collected on 6/7/08 that started hatching on
6/8/08) started to go into chrysalis yesterday (6/28). Because of the cool rainy weather they were very small for a long time then almost overnight they bloomed into huge 5ths and started to J.

My second batch ( eggs collected on 6/9/08 that started hatching on
6/12/08) are not even a whole day behind the first batch.
Time to get a temperature reading for the month of June and check out the chart. : )

Have not seen any adult monarchs up here almost two weeks and was not finding eggs when checking my milkweed patch. I saw two yesterday flitting around the yard and nectaring in between showers. There must have been at least one female here last week though , because I have been harvesting 1st intars off of my tiney milkweed seedings.
