All Other Signs of Spring

I haven't posted any comments for awhile, but now I want to share what I call my "night patio". Moon Flowers (Datura) and wild Evening Primrose bloom after the sun sets. Although I like to go to bed by 9:30 to read, the Sphinx Moth don't show up until it gets really dark, so, it is usually 10:00 before can give up the thrill of watching all this. Occasionally, I have had my daughter or grandson at the house at this time and MAKE them come out to watch with me, but I mostly enjoy all this by myself. Swallowtail larvae are not numerous on the dill, parsley, and Rue this year. The few that are there are getting ready to pupate, so maybe there will be a good show of butterflies in the fall. It has been noted by my "birding buddies" (and I have also noted) there are not many bugs this year. Miller moths were almost none existant. June bugs were few and far between. This is not good for the "fly catcher" birds that come to Kansas each summer to raise their young. Enough for tonight,
