Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/22/2008

Number: 1

I saw a monarch butterfly laying her eggs on the milkweed next to a stone wall behind my house. I checked when she was finished and saw the little white eggs on the undersides of the leaves she had visited. I've always left the milkweed to grow there, with the hope that such an event would happen. It was a wonderful surprise to see it actually occur.
