I can count the number of monarch sightings I've heard about on my fingers this year. (As of August 10th) I've personally seen 3, one worn female and 2 fresh individuals, all in the last 3 weeks. There was a picture of a mating pair in South Manitoba posted to Bugguide recently.

Observation forwarded by Don Davis for L. de March. These observations are consistent with many reports of low monarch numbers this breeding season in many parts of the breeding range.
