For the past two years, I have finally seen the hummingbirds starting August 22 on the dot. Today 8/21/2008 they arrived one day early as I first spied one while sitting at the dinner table around out on the desk and my feeders. It was either a female or a juvenile male with white belly and emerald green back. It spend about 45 minutes coming close and even came up with inches of the sliding glass door checking things out. Over the next hour or more, it swooped in to take slurps from the feeder, severa, times lingering for 45 seconds.
