Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/25/2008

Number: 1

We have had a wet summer with little drought as in recent summers. Crops are doing very well. Only a few single monarchs around. We do not see the large numbers every year. Last year was exceptional. I will keep you posted.

August 23,2007
Temperature is about 25 Celsius. Cloudy. Rain and lightning last night.

50 metres east of Lake Huron shoreline. Local Ash trees and white cedar trees are filled with Monarchs. They have been arriving over the last 3 days. The number is very high this year compared to other years. 2-3 years ago it was also heavy. Monarchs are not moving far today. Just fluttering around the trees. Beautiful to see.
