This year my caterpillar count is way down, only 6 so far in 1st instars& none on my plants. Last year at this time I had taken in at least a dozen last instars to finish feed let them go to chrysalis then hatch. After they hatch I check the sex nane them & release them. By last Oct.2007 I realeased 56 healthy Monarchs. The county sprayed for gypsy moths &mosquitos. I also get at least a dozen spicebush caterpillars on my spicebush in the last 3 years, not a one this year.
