As others have reported, this has been an unusual summer for monarch eggs. It started off slow and was moderate at best throughout the summer. But this past week I discovered that I had over three dozen eggs, found over a two day span on my 3 tropical milkweed plants that I grow in pots. I also found about 6 more eggs on my swamp milkweeds. The last three of these eggs presently have caterpillars emerging. I am pretty sure that all of these eggs are from the monarchs I had recently released. I have never found this concentration of eggs this late in August.
