This evening (9/1) was a repetition of 8/31/08 only there were about twice as many butterflies. Our weather has been hot and very dry. There is an old apple grove and many fallen apples; other trees are maple, birch, mountain ash, green ash and many different kinds of evergreens. Trees and shrubs, 3 ponds appt 15 years old; appt 2 1/2 acres total surface area surrounded by open meadows and trees. The surrounding land is mostly farm fields with small wood lots.
