Some RT females sightings in early august, But Charlie, a male RT has now shown up in our yard for the 5th year in a row on 8/31/08. He first arrived during hurricane charlie and each year since he has shown up in the last week of August to first week of September for the last 5 years consecutively. He stays until the first to second week of March each of the past 4 years. He visits our feeder every day numerous times. He also feeds on our yellow shrimp plants, paggodas, mexican sage, mexican petunias, aloe flowers, poicienna and red salvia. He tends to roost on the same branches in the oak trees around our yard and has a relatively loud and distinctive "chirp" as opposed to all other HBs that have visited our yard. In fact I first heard Charlie in the morning of 8/31 and knew it was him before sure enought spotting him at the feeder later that afternoon. I told my wife "Charlie is here" and she said "you saw him?" , I said "no I heard him". It amazes me that this little guy migrates s
