Sitting on the front porch with my daughter, when a big, loud bug came flying up next to us. We were sitting near our geranium bed, which was the obvious attraction for what turned out to be a hummingbird, not a bug. Dark in color, though I can't give more of a description than that. Clearly a hummingbird of some sort, just a foot or two away from us.
