I was surprised again by the lack of Monarchs on Friday 5 Sept at East Point Park in Scarborough where I saw a total of 3. This is a site where, at this time of the year I would normally expect to see hundreds, and have often been able to net 2 or 3 with one swing of the net. It looks now like it usually does at the end of September or early October.
Last year on the 5th of Sept I had tagged almost 400. This year I am at about 150.
