Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/09/2008

Number: 200

This was the first I have ever seen. It was amazing to see all of them flying around and resting on the trees.

We noticed them on Tuesday evening around 4pm when we came home from work. I would say around 200 or so. Yesterday (9/10)when we arrived home there were still a some but not as many (probably 50 or so).

They mostly rested on two of our trees (they are fairly large trees, not sure what type) I would say they probably covered at least six of the branches.

We live directly in town (it is a small town) with homes all around us so we were surprised to see them. There are some fields towards the south of us but I am not sure what is growing.
