Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/06/2008

Number: 200

Our farm was lucky enough to be a stopping point for hundreds of Monarchs. They roosted in the trees each evening for two nights and on the third morning they left. I am so grateful for having this experience. It captured my entire families attention as we watched one by one the butterflies fly to a low hanging branch and rest waiting for nightfall. In the morning there they'd be until the sun reached them and warmed them back up again. We'd had some pretty cold weather at that time with over night lows being in the high 40's. I was over joyed to know it didn't get any colder and our new friends were able to continue on their journey.

Sincerely,
Michelle Jordan
