Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/15/2008

Number: 1

I suspected with the bright sunny weather today and winds that there might be a strong monarch migration. As well, almost all of the remaining chrysalises in my rearing cage at home emerged today en masse. East of Toronto, Doug Lockery and crew at the Cranberry Marsh Hawk Watch reported "thousands of monarchs and dragonflies", as well as a strong hawk migration with perfect northwest winds. After this week, what will be left will be stragglers.
