Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/18/2008

Number: 1

Finally observed 25 or so Monarchs on their migration south. I say 'finally' because the numbers of monarchs in my area this year has been down. Normally I can see on average 20 every day around our home in the fields or in the woods behind our home. So to finally be able to see as many as I did today was a treat, sadly though they weren't going to stay around.
Hopefully maybe next year will be different, our weather this year has been odd. I'm not complaining though, we really didn't have a really hot summer. It was almost like a extended spring of sorts.
