Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/23/2008

Number: 1

Earlier this month, I noticed THREE monarch caterpillars on the milk weed plant. They were there for several days and seemed to disappear. On Tuesday, Sept 23rd,I went out on the porch and I saw a Monarch Butterfly on the edge of a centinella candle. It seemed just to stay there, not moving it's wings. I looked closer and saw that it was almost completely out of it's pupa!! I could not believe my eyes.

The next morning I checked the butterfly bush where a gently place it and it was still there. When I returned that afternoon, it was gone. BUT what a great experience to watch and believe me, I took lots of pictures
