A great summer of butterflies here at Monarch Landing appears to be extending into the warm fall. Yesterdays 26C(Sept.24th) had lots of species still flying. The monarch migration peaked here (Erie's Central Basin) last Thursday Sept 18th with an estimated 4,000 plus monarchs passing these shores on the day. Perhaps 20% of our best years. Good numbers were seen Friday , Saturday and Sunday however each day the magnitude decreased. Sept 24th there were only perhaps 5 to 10 Monarchs all day.
