Cedar Park Elementary Science, Technology, Engineering and Math(STEM) School and the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District teamed up to create Cedar Park's Outdoor Classroom and Native Habitat Learning Area. The projectcovers approximately 8,000 sf of outdoor learning area to support educational curriculum. Groupings of native plant communities represent an Oak Savanna, Mesic Prairie and Upland Dry Prairie habitats. Today the Dakota County SWCD staff confirmed the gardens are healthy habitats for our Minnesota wildlife. The students, birds and monarchs are enjoying the comfortable Fall temperatures and wildflowers.
