The Pottsville High School Environmental Science class conducted a 15 minute count today between 1100 -1200 CDST. A total of eight monarchs were observed flying SSW at about 20 feet in altitude. The weather was very sunny, light easterly winds, and 78 degrees F. The same students have been seeing Monarchs all week during and after school hours. It is our opinion that we are seeing an increase in activity from the previous week.
