We have a Monarch Waystation on our school playground. It was certified by Monarch Watch as Monarch Waystation 1390 in the summer of 2007. The garden was created by Dan and Donna Everson. We have host plants for monarchs and black swallowtails and also nectar sources for all butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Other birds such as grosbeaks and goldfinches like to come to the garden for seeds. This past summer we had our first mating pair of bluebirds too. A local boy scout put up our fences and is making two benches as part of his Eagle Scout project.
