Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/04/2008

Number: 1

The temperature was 40 degrees this morning and I only say one female rubythroat perched on a feeder, around 7am, just as fat as she could be. This afternoon is got up to 80 degrees. Around 5pm I saw three female rubythroats. None of them appeared to be fattened up for their migration. I assume the one this morning headed south after I saw her and the ones this afternoon arrived from north of here during the day, and will spend a day here feeding before heading south again. It seems this pattern has repeated itself for several weeks now.
