We have been watching for monarchs on our playground and also at home. We found a monarch caterpillar in the butterfly garden at our school. He was munching on a milkweed plant. We went out about an hour later and he was in his chrysalis. WE brought the chrysalis inside and he hatched 14 days later. We released him in the butterfly garden on a butterfly bush. We know it was a male because he had the markings on his wings. We are sending monarchs to Mexico!!
