My Habitat Project is my yard, I've designed it in a way to attract birds, insects, amphibians and mammals. To attract nature, I've planted trees, shrubs, flowers, even a pear cacti (which is native in SE Alberta). There are two bird baths and two small ponds which the birds just love. I had my own flock of Pine Sisken this year. Other years I've had a flock of Red Poles. Some of the trees, shrub are native to Alberta, plus I've tried to find varieties that have berries and shelter for birds. I had a downy woodpecker come to one of my bird feeders on two different occasions. I am sad that not as many bees are coming to the yard as in previous years, there is somethings killing them off, but, I do get quite a few butterflies though.
