Monarch PEAK Migration

10/8--> saw 100s of monarchs passing overhead during our morning elementary school citizen science monarch program with 4th grade; skies were clear, winds very low. We released tagged individuals as well.



10/9--> today winds have picked up I'd say at least 15 mph at times; During our morning monarch release at school we saw increasing amounts of monarchs by 11:00 when temps began warming up. Saw 3 wild monarchs passing thru from 9:30-11 am, and we released more monarchs as well.


Wed may have been the peak, but as the winds from the South sloooowww down I suspect we'll see more #s...
