Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/09/2008

Number: 3000

Beginning Thursday, October 9th, a few hundred Monarchs were spotted in a cluster of Elm trees. On Friday it was observed that they were also roosting on other Elms and Oaks near by and the numbers had increased. After checking out the entire 200 acres of Wildseed Farms near Fredericksburg, Texas on Saturday, October 11th, I estimate there are 3,000 or more resting here. They are feeding on the abundance of Blue Mist and other nectar sources in our waystation and throughout the farm. It has been magnificent.
