Symbolic Monarchs (Sent)

Date: 10/11/2008

Number: 1

Hello from beautiful Kittery Point, Maine!
We fed milkweed to two monarch larvae, both of which turned to chrysalises, and then butterflies which we released in September to fly south.
Fort Foster, a park in our town, is a resting spot for monarchs during their migration south. Thousands are gathered there right now!
We sent our symbolic monarchs to Journey North, knowing they'll eventually make it to Mexico where they'll be cared for by Mexican students who live near the monarch sanctuaries.
