I saw some today on the way to New Braunfels. Just south of the
intersection of RR32 and Purgatory Road, 2 or 3 miles west of Wimberley,
there is a field on the west side of the road with masses of Maximilian
sunflowers. I stopped to take a photograph, and the sunflowers were
alive with Monarchs. There could easily have been hundreds browsing on
the sunflowers.
