Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/12/2008

Number: 2000

Monarch "roosting" many hundreds to thousands noted Sunday and Monday at our POA [Property Owners Association] island park on the Pedernales River off Pedernales Oaks Road 3 miles east of Johnson City in an area with large pecans, persimmons, and I think milkweed texana.

Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 2000 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “thousands.”
