Oct 15 I noticed a flight at 4 p.m. after returning to the ridge from a couple hours in town down in the valley where there were lots of nectaring Monarchs but I didn't see indications of a flight....
There were 200-600 per minute for about 2 hours, with some still passing SW at 7 p.m., almost dark. At least at minimum there were 20,000 that passed over in 3 hours, probably many more.
