Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/16/2008

Number: 1

I have just come in after watching the Monarchs over my garden. I live in SW Georgetown and in the last hour and a half (5:00 - 6:30 pm, October 16) I had at least one Monarch passing overheard and sometimes up to ten at a time. Mostly there were two or three floating by. At all times I had a monarch in
view. All headed north to south. Around 6:30 or so they started to stop and roost in the trees.

Three nights ago (October 13) I came across several roosting in a tree in the canyon at the bottom of my garden.

Editor's Note: This observer did not specify the number of monarchs present. We entered 'one' in the number field only to mark this record for future consideration.
