written on oct.12 - The last time I heard the early morning song of the phoebe was this morning, Oct 10. The phoebes nest on my porches every year and eat their share of flies, especially in the fall and early spring when they come back.
Now I shall count the days until I hear her beautiful song again in the spring of 09. This year the phoebe left for her migration journey later than she did last year!
