Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/17/2008

Number: 1

Today we planted our tulip bulbs! We each planted one official bulb and one experimental bulb. One of our groups of kids planted their bulbs upside-down. Our predictions include the following:
-The flower will grow down into the ground.
-The flower will not grow at all.
-The roots will grow up out of the ground.
-The flower will realize it's growing the wrong way, and turn around.
-The flower will connect to another bulb and use its roots.
We also planted bulbs that were cut in half. We predicted the following:
-Half of a flower will grow.
-Two halves will join to make one, split flower.
-The flower will not grow at all.
-It will have fewer petals.
-The flower will grow a little and then die.
The third group of kids colored their bulbs different colors. They predicted the following:
-The tulips will be multicolored.
-The petals will be multicolored.

We would love to compare with classes from other parts of the world! :)
