Hello (Hola). I have a group of combined ages and grades, six to nine year olds in the first, second and third grades. The children have been learning a lot about butterflies and specifically the monarch. We have seen a few monarchs in our neighborhoods and on the playground. The children of this age group really enjoyed the book Gotta Go that I read at the beginning of our study. When we did the symbolic migration project a few years ago we kept a binder of information and some of the letters we received. The students were thrilled to be thinking about the children in Mexico taking care of the butterflies. They will enjoy using the maps while they wait for news.
