Dr. Lopez's fifth graders planted their tulip bulbs on October 20, 2008.We found clay and sand in the dirt. It was hard to dig and a lot of work. We covered our holes with garden soil. We found earthworms, grubs, and millipedes in the soil. There was fungi in the ground. A praying mantis jumped off the wall and scared some people. Some students were painting a mural so when they got back, the other students helped them plant their tulips. We had fun planting tulips. At the end, we all learned how to work together as a team. P.S. Some of the guys liked the grubs.
