Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/31/2008

Number: 1

Mrs. Sauer-Jones' fifth graders planted tulips on a warm and sunny Halloween afternoon. They decided to plant their tulips around the flagpole. Some of the girls didn't like the grubs that they found in the soil. Digging a 7 seven inch hole was challenging because they had to dig a long time and they saw grubs. The students found other organisms while digging in the soil. The hardest part was starting the hole because the top of the dirt was dry and hard. They found rocks and wood chips in the soil. The students think that planting tulips was very fun, even though it was dirty.
